This is my 2003 mexican beetle. I picked it up from about 2 months a go from a friend of mine. Its a really different experience driving a "new" beetle. Things like no rattles or squeaks even the heater works! This bug has only 1175KM on the clock. 2003 was the last production year for the "air cooled" beetle. They have disc brake front end, with a 1600cc hydraulic lifters motor. The trans axle has a really high ring and pinion so on the freeway its revving pretty good. When I got it I couldn't leave it stock so the first thing I did was have a set of dropped spindles put on at the Beetle Barn. I also scored a set of 4 lug cosmic wheels. The wheels were refurbished by D&H wheel in Las Vegas. This bug is a "standard" beetle. Standard Beetles have no chrome trim. The metal trim is all blacked out (porsche carerra style). Turn signals in the bumper the door panels do not have pockets. No radio or antenna, felt carpet & rubber mats on the floor. I think its kind of a like factory built cal look bug. No need to shave anything. Its actually my wife's bug. That's who I got it for. No way I could put her in a old beater with kids and all. The only thing she needs to do is learn how to drive a stick.
